In this full renovation in Prenzlauer Berg, we completely renewed a 100 m² period apartment while deliberately preserving the character of the building.
The centrepiece is the original parquet floor. Instead of replacing it, we sanded and re-lacquered it. The wood grain now shows at its best again and gives the rooms back their warm, lively feel.
To match, we installed new skirting boards in the classic Old Berlin profile, 14 cm high, as is typical for Gründerzeit apartments. They create a clean finish between floor and wall and emphasise the generous ceiling heights.
The tall windows, white double doors and bright walls let plenty of daylight flow through the apartment. The result is a calm overall look where period charm meets fresh surfaces.
The result is a move-in-ready period apartment that has kept its historic character while feeling brand new.
